Tyra Banks’ Smize and Dream Ice Cream Pops up Today through September 20th in Woodley Park

From a press release:

“Global icon and ice cream lover Tyra Banks today announced a pop-up scoop shop for her SMiZE & DREAM ice cream company, opening in D.C.’s Woodley Park on July 19th.

Following the launch of a mobile ice cream outlet in Dubai and a pre-packed shop in Los Angeles, the D.C. debut marks the brand’s first-ever official scoop shop. As a nod to D.C.’s 202 area code, the first 202 guests in line at 2653 Connecticut Ave NW on opening day will receive a free scoop of the ice cream flavor and SMiZE Surprize of their choice, while supplies last.

The summer pop-up’s concept, called SMiZE & DREAM’s FLAVOR STUDIO, will be a unique incubator, where creative flavor concepts know no bounds. Visitors can expect an artisanal menu, handmade in-house and from scratch, featuring three Flavor Zones that encourage them to venture beyond their usual ice cream choices. What sets SMiZE & DREAM even further apart is the SMiZE Surprize, the signature sweet truffle they hide in every cup and cone.

SMiZE & DREAM has crafted a special flavor, “Cap Hill Crunch,”’ also known as “Who Put French Toast in My Cereal?” to pay homage to D.C. This flavor, one of Tyra’s favorites, features Cap’n Crunch cereal-infused ice cream, enhanced by the crunch of handmade Cap’n Crunch-toffee and cereal-soaked pieces of French toast. The brand will additionally drop a new Limited Edition ice cream flavor and SMiZE Surprize each week until the end of summer.

Following this summer’s pop-up, SMiZE & DREAM is committed to investing in D.C.’s culinary education with a non-profit ice cream and entrepreneurial learning center. The curriculum aims to support the economic development of D.C. by educating underserved youth about the ice cream industry, from science to selling. SMiZE & DREAM will collaborate with government agencies and local organizations to support the learning center. The program will extend globally to SMiZE’s international outposts, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and enriching connections for D.C. youth.

“My obsession with ice cream has me waking up each night with our company on my mind,” said Banks. “There is no slapping my name on this company. I live, breathe, and absolutely love it. I am living my sweetest dream.”

Tyra’s profound love for ice cream, rooted in cherished memories shared with her mother Carolyn during Friday night visits to the local ice cream shop, has formed the foundation for the brand. These outings were filled with bonding, laughter and dreaming big together. Tyra’s heartfelt affinity for ice cream blossomed in this nurturing environment, inspiring her passion for creating memorable experiences and empowering others to dream big, just like she did with her mother.
