With Cru Lounge closed following the gunfire inside the night lounge back in September 2023, it was uncertain that they could ever reopen. Looks like they won’t. The Upper Room appears to be planning a grand opening on May 4, 2024,
according to their Instagram page @theupperroomdc taking over the former night spot. Looks like they are doing music, food, hookah, and drinks. The only thing I haven’t figured out is if they are connected to www.theupperroomdc.com located at 3124 Georgia Avenue NE. They have different logos with that one being some type of creative workspace that describes itself as “providing incredible 420 friendly experiences” along with a membership structure. Either way, I hope they do a better job at security and the on the street line management than Cru did.”
