Taqueria Xochi coming to Navy Yard!!

From a press release:

“Brookfield Properties, a leading global developer and operator of high-quality real estate assets, today announced that local favorite Taqueria Xochi will open its third Washington, D.C. location at The Yards. The authentic Mexican restaurant will occupy 2,522 SF at 300 Tingey St SE at the Boilermaker Shops.

From authentic street-style tacos to delicious margaritas and indulgent desserts, Taqueria Xochi tells a story of Mexican culinary heritage and passion in every bite and brings a new, Mexican culinary experience to The Yards. They are slated to open their doors this summer.

“Taqueria Xochi is the perfect new addition to our growing neighborhood and joins a list of exciting new retailers opening their doors at The Yards this year,” said Bobby Swennes, Executive Vice President and Head of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Region, Brookfield Properties. “Bringing a range of restaurants and retailers that the Capitol Riverfront and its visitors will be excited about is part of creating a truly mixed-use community, and we’re proud to welcome another local favorite to the neighborhood.”

Over the last few months, the neighborhood has welcomed Foxtrot and Maman, and is preparing for the opening of Playa Bowls and Jungle & Loom. The Yards boasts an impressive list of popular and Michelin-approved restaurants including Albi, Chloe, Bammy’s, Osteria Morini, Bluejacket, Due South, Shilling Canning Co., District Winery and more.

“When deciding where to open our third location, The Yards was an obvious choice for us,” said Geraldine Mendoza, Co-founder and Director of Operations at Taqueria Xochi. “We’re eager to join an exceptional list of restaurants in the neighborhood and to bring our unique and authentic flavors to Navy Yard.”

At full build-out, The Yards will be the largest waterfront development in the DC region, encompassing 48 acres, including 6 acres with water frontage, with a total of 1.8 million square feet of office space, 500,000 square feet of shopping and dining space, 3,400 residential units and 7.5 acres of public green space. Now underway, Phase II of The Yards will deliver 1,260+ new multi-income residences, 1.8 million square feet of office space, including exclusive waterfront office, and over 33K square feet of newly reclaimed waterfront park space.”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
