Fire on 14th Street Sunday: “5 adults living on the floors above the restaurant displaced.”

Reader reported around 5pm Sunday:

“Looks like a fire on 14th street. Firefighters walking into Maiz 64 but also above Tamara 14th and Ammathar.

From DC Fire and EMS:

“Box Alarm 1300 14th St NW. Fire 1st floor kitchen of a restaurant.

Working Fire 1300 block 14th St NW. Fire 1st floor kitchen restaurant 3 story building. Fire 1st floor knocked down. Fire extended via ductwork to roof. Continue to open up and extinguish fire. No injuries reported.

Update Working Fire 1300 block 14th St NW. An additional truck Co. was requested to assist. All visible fire extinguished and the incident is under control with no injuries reported. Fire investigators and Inspectors on scene.

There were 5 adults living on the floors above the restaurant who have been displaced. The @RedCrossNCGC has been notified to provide assistance.”
