“Legendary NYC Piano Bar Sid Gold’s Request Room Debuts in Washington, DC”

1262 5th Street, NE

From a press release:

Sid Gold’s Request Room, an experiential piano bar featuring live karaoke, announced today it will be opening in Union Market District by late March. Patrons take the stage with an accompanist and belt out a mix of pop, rock, soul and even punk (yes, you can play punk on a piano!), turning a night out into a night to remember.

With a musical repertoire of more than 1000 songs, each pianist provides vocal guidance and harmony, giving even the shyest singers the confidence to own the room.

“Sid Gold’s will be the perfect addition to this bustling neighborhood, offering a unique karaoke experience in the DC market. Patrons become as much a part of the show as the singer on stage. No night is ever the same, but the main ingredient of this magical experience is the organic connection people make through music.” — Paul Devitt, Co-Founder.

Looking to experience the energy and excitement that Sid Gold’s Request Room will bring? Join us inside the Market on Thursday, February 29, from 5 – 8 pm, for an exclusive pop-up to experience an interactive Piano Karaoke Night from Sid Gold’s, co-presented by Buffalo & Bergen.

Devitt and his partner, Joe McGinty, opened the first SGRR in New York City in 2015, followed by Detroit and Nashville. Devitt is best known for his iconic Beauty Bar, opened 27 years ago in NYC, with ten outposts nationally at its peak. McGinty is the founder of Loser’s Lounge, a long-running tribute night and NYC institution. Previously he was a member of British rock band The Psychedelic Furs.

The stylish, mid-century space, located at 1262 5th Street, NE, is designed by Devitt with local architecture firm DesignCase and NYC-based decorative painter, Steven Hammel.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
