From MPD: “MPD is on the scene of a barricaded individual in the 900 block of U Street, NW. ERT has been requested to the scene. There are numerous road closures in the area.”
“Update: At approx 8:06 a.m., an MPD officer was flagged down for a potential armed robbery in the area of 8th Street & Florida Avenue, NW. It was reported that two potential suspects ran inside a building in the 2000 block of Georgia Ave and may be barricaded inside.”
“MPD’s Emergency Response Team is on the scene and investigating. @HowardU and Howard Hospital are operating normally with traffic closures in the area.”
“The following road closures are in place due to this incident:
– 2000 block of Georgia Avenue, NW, between V Street and Florida Avenue.
– 700-800 blocks of Florida Avenue, NW, between 7th and 9th Streets
