“Union Station Sees Nearly 60% Jump in Food & Beverage Sales” – Van Leeuwen’s Ice Cream coming “Spring 2024”

From a press release:

“Food and beverage sales at Union Station increased by 59% in 2023, Rexmark announced today. The news comes amid an upswing in new tenants.

Van Leeuwen’s Ice Cream is targeting a Spring 2024 opening at Union Station, joining a growing list of new and returning food and beverage tenants, including Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Cinnabon, The Halal Guys, Wellfound Foods, Laduree, Wendy’s, Jamba Juice, Shake Shack, and Chopt. Raising Cane’s grand opening was on Tuesday, January 9th.

“DC has been such an amazing, welcoming city to us and we can’t wait to open in Union Station and scoop good ice cream to city travelers,” said Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO of Van Leeuwen’s Ice Cream.

“Thanks to growing foot traffic and our ambitious leasing strategy, we are seeing real change at the station. Papadopoulos Properties has been a wonderful partner in helping to attract top-flight food, beverage and entertainment operators to serve the growing residential community near Union Station, not to mention the workers who have returned to the office,” said a Rexmark spokesperson.”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
