“D.C.’s first infrared sauna with float therapy experience COMING SOON!”

From a press release:

Pure Sweat + Float Studio, the award-winning, community-focused retreat for health, healing and connection within, is excited to announce the debut of its first studio coming to Georgetown, D.C. Pure Sweat + Float Studio, slated to open in early 2024 at 3345 Prospect St NW, Washington, DC 20007.

An oasis for those seeking whole body health and to release daily stress, Pure Sweat + Float Studio will be the first wellness studio of its kind in D.C., offering both full-spectrum infrared saunas by Sunlighten, and float therapy by Superior Float Tanks.

Boutique in design and elevated in experience, Pure Sweat + Float Studio provides space to not only unplug and recharge, but also as a place to connect, learn and be inspired. Within its wellness lounge, the Studio will host events with local mavens and health leaders, as well as offer thoughtfully curated retail to complement the Studio’s commitment to increased immunity and wellbeing.

Local resident and owner Liz Baker is passionate about bringing Pure Sweat to her community stating, “After spending years working in the studios, I witnessed the positive impact both saunas and float therapy were having on members of my community – from managing stress to auto-immune diseases, uncomfortable skin issues, combat-induced PTSD and so much more. Helping others feel their best, so that they could show up better for those around them, became my driving force.”

Each 45-minute infrared sauna session is a fully-appointed, customizable experience with chromotherapy, complimentary access to entertainment and meditation apps, and a selection of self-care enhancements. Healing benefits of infrared sauna address immune health, joint pain, arthritis, mold and heavy metal toxicity, post-surgery, post-natal, menopause, anxiety, depression and more. Studies have shown it also stimulates a fresh supply of oxygenated blood flow throughout the body and brain, increasing serotonin to help relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Pure Sweat’s triple wavelength Infrared Sauna Therapy by Sunlighten offers a full- spectrum of Near, Mid and Far Infrared wavelengths to warm one’s body at the cellular level, delivering a deep tissue sweat and advanced health and healing. Each wavelength targets a different part of the body to produce specific health benefits.

Additionally, through the power of weightlessness, total stillness, and 1,000 lbs. of pristine, magnesium-rich Epsom salt water, the Studio’s float therapy provides one of the most progressive + effective healing forces to de-stress and relieve physical pain, allowing the mind and body to rest, recover and rejuvenate. In terms of recharging, floating triggers a deep relaxation response drifting to the theta state. It is noted that a 40-minute Float session is equivalent to 4-hours of sleep.

The high density of Epsom salt provides a weightless support structure, relieving all pressure from the back, neck, spine, and hips. For many, Floating is also a path to meditation, as well as a nurturing context for physical recovery, decision-making, creative thinking, confidence, and self-care. Pure Sweat’s Float sessions include a curated array of music tracks, including guided meditations, binaural beats and frequency vibrations, that can be selected to customize a supported mindset. Float sessions are 25, 40 or 60-minutes, accommodating single occupancy or couples.”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
