Seven Reasons opened in City Center

931 H Street, NW

From Seven Reasons:

“The most notable culinary offering from the new Seven Reasons will be their wait-list only tasting experience, aptly called “SURPRISE,” which takes inspiration from escape rooms. Chef Limardo promises a tasting experience like nothing guests have ever experienced and his most ambitious yet in one of Seven Reasons’s two new private dining rooms – diners might eat their dishes blindfolded or have to solve a puzzle before unlocking their utensils, for example. Reservations for this experience will be released on unannounced dates about a week in advance, and reservations are limited to the first fourteen guests that secure the spots.

For Seven Reasons’s loyal fans, Chef Enrique Limardo and General Director Chef Jose Ignacio “Nacho” Useche will still have all the beloved dishes from the award-winning original menu such as the “Seven Reasons Ceviche” (Purple sweet potato, crispy quinoa, foam coconut leche de tigre, red onion) in addition to a new culinary rollout. New dishes include West Coast Kusshi Oysters made with Latin mignonette and “pulling hair” sauce, “Hamachi Tiradito” with ají amarillo leche de tigre, avocado, crispy seabean, passion fruit glaze, and red onions, and the torched at your table “Melting Cloud” dessert featuring lemon custard, streusel, cookie sorbet, coconut foam, limoncello marshmallow, and cotton candy.

Seven Reasons’s dishes will pair seamlessly with Beverage Director Carlos Boada’s cocktails and wine list, including their signature “Never Been Kissed” (Ilegal, Singani, Sherry, Lime, Beets, Thyme, Strawberry, Egg Whites) and “Kuzco’s New Groove” (Pisco, Aguardiente, Brandy, Chamomile-mint, Lime, Black Lemon Bitters, Ginger, Egg Whites). Seven Reasons will be open for happy hour every weekday starting at 5pm, and guests can expect the launch of brunch and lunch in the new year.

About the Space:
Constantine Gogos of Papadopoulos Properties, Inc. brokered the deal with CityCenter and Seven Reasons Group for the 8,000 square foot space, adding to Seven Reasons Group’s growing repertoire of premium properties in DC. The vast restaurant is almost double the size of the original 14th St location of Seven Reasons, allowing room for 130 sit down guests, a bar that seats up to 15, and two private dining rooms. Seven Reasons Group collaborated with DesignCase’s Michelle Bove to bring the new vision for Seven Reasons to life with a space inspired by the Amazon with subtle homage to the beloved 14th St location.

Guests will immediately see those Amazonian influences upon entering the restaurant, most notably a massive handmade stone art piece that engulfs the restaurant’s elevator and DJ booth. This artwork, made by Spanish artist Marcos Albajez Lopez, takes inspiration from the 2 million year old Tepui Mountains of Venezuela. To their left sits the bar made with transparent marble and complemented by walls made with red brick, lush greenery, and even a waterfall feature. In the main dining room guests will find impressive wood accents, including a wooden tree sculpture that blends into the ceiling of the dining room.

Entertainment is also a key element of the new Seven Reasons. The restaurant will regularly have DJs and live vocalists several nights a week. Guests can also expect a state of the art sound system, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere that will allow for dancing and mingling as the night progresses.”

See D.C.’s longest-running sketch comedy group do what they do best, when they’re not performing across the country in places such as the terrifying Philadelphia, the gooey Chicago, the M&M Store-y New York City, and the crunchy Seattle.

Now, our last show may or may not have mentioned Taylor Swift, and we may have gotten into some trouble from confused Swifties who thought they scored a $15 ticket to a Taylor Swift concert. So, to apologize and clear up any confusion, we’ve decided to dedicate another show to her. We promise she might or might not appear this time.
