“PEPCO Heavy up issues – How do I break through this stonewall? And how can I escalate this?”

“Dear PoPville,

I started the process of getting a heavy-up electrical panel in April 2023. The city came through and it passed inspection in June, and I’ve been waiting for PEPCO to schedule digging and install the the line ever since.

My neighbors waited one and two years (respectively) for

PEPCO to install a heavy-up power line, so I’m worried. I need additional electric capacity as my water heater is on its last legs and needs to be replaced (and transitioned to electric).

I have repeatedly contacted PEPCO as to when this might occur and I have received the run around. First they want my electrician to fill out forms, which he has done about five times. When I call to inquire about scheduling, I do not get a call or an email back, and Janese Lewis’s office hasn’t been able to make any headway on my behalf. Now they are upset that I have a “lock” (see photo) on my current panel. My neighbors have a similar lock, and the work of the new panel has passed city inspection, so I don’t know why a lock on the old meter should be a hinderance to PEPCO’s work.

How do I break through this stonewall? And how can I escalate this?”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
