Final Blue Banana Sports Bar Update: Opening Tuesday Night, Free Drinks to Celebrate!

At long last (this is for you Matt G!) Blue Banana sports bar is opening up Tuesday night at 3632 Georgia Ave, NW next to Looking Glass Lounge. We had a brief update in Nov. but now it is official – doors open Tuesday, Dec. 21st at 6pm. And here’s even better news – Tues. and Wed. from 8-9pm there will be an open bar. Yes, an open bar! Select beers and rail drinks but still an open bar!

Their facebook page says:

The Blue Banana Sports & Rock Bar is opening this week! We have 10 Flat Screen TV’s, a Full Bar, 12 Microbrews on Tap plus plenty of Bottles of Beer in the coolers! Come enjoy all the Sports Games you can imagine (we are getting every package available and if we don’t have it ask!). At night come listen to Rock & Top 40 via our IPOD plus DJ’s & Bands coming soon!

Please join us for one of our special opening nights and check us out!

Tuesday Open Bar from 8pm – 9pm

Wednesday Open Bar from 8pm – 9pm

Thursday: 1/2 Price Beers all night!

Friday: Xmas Eve 1/2 Price Drinks 8pm – 10pm!

Saturday: Closed during the day but opening at 8pm. 1/2 Price Drinks 8pm – 10pm!

Sunday: Noon – Close

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
