From MPD sent at 2:24am: “Alert: Shooting Investigation in the 900 block of Westminster Street N.W.. Lookout for White Toyota occupied by (4) black, males wearing ski-masks and armed with handguns.”
and sent around 9pm: “Alert: Shooting Investigation in the intersection of Good Hope Road and 16th Street, SE. No lookout.”

“At approximately 0600 hours, officers from the First District responded to the report of a shooting in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street NW. The officers arrived and located one adult male with a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot through the back alley toward First Street NW. The suspect is described a black male, average build, wearing a black mask, black shirt, gray jeans and black shoes.

Update from MPD: “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday, August 6, 2023, in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest.
At approximately 6:00 am, First District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male shooting victim. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, where despite all lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The decedent has been identified as 28-year-old Antonio Brown of Northwest, DC.”
