Wanted to let you know that a new Thai place has opened up at 2122 P St NW in the old Asia 54 space called Sampannee. My husband and I tried it last night and it was genuinely great! The massaman curry really impressed me and the mango sticky rice was far and away the best I’ve ever had in DC.
The owners told us they’d been open for four days and could not have been kinder or more enthusiastic. I don’t even think they have a website yet, but the takeout number is 202-509-3452. Would love to see this place succeed! P Street has had a few recent closures that have broken my heart!”
