Friday Night Crime – Multiple Shooting in SE and “Road Rage Incident” in NE

According to MPD:

At 1247am an Officer was flagged down in the 4900 Block of South Dakota Ave by the driver of a vehicle stating he had been shot. The subject stated he was involved in a “Road Rage Incident” on the Maryland side of Eastern Ave. The victim and the suspect had cut each other off several times while driving. When the two cars turned into the 1800 block of Michigan Ave Northeast (in the District) the suspect car pulled up beside the victims car rolled down his window and fired several shots from a semi automatic handgun into the victim’s car striking him at least once causing non life threatening wounds. The suspect then fled the area. The victim then drove until he was able to flag down an officer in the 4900 block of South Dakota Avenue Northeast. The victim was transport to Washington Hospital Center by District of Columbia Fire and EMS in Stable condition.

The victim was able to provide a lookout for a 2 door dark colored Honda with dark tinted windows driven by a black male. No further lookout was provided. If anyone has information about this incident please contact the Fourth District Detectives Office at 202.703.0616 or you can remain anonymous and call 202.727.9099.

This victim was treated at Washington Hospital Center and has already been released from the hospital.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
