“Dear PoPville,

I live in Petworth … have for 20 years.

My recycling has not been picked up on schedule (without a 311 online services request) since Jan. 1 of this year. Trash continues to be picked up (thank heaven), but not recycling.

I hate to stop recycling, but I”m at the point where the only thing I can think to do is to get a trash can for my auxiliary apartment and stop recycling.

I’ve written Councilmember Lewis Smith’s staff every week and they’ve been copying DPW, but nothing has changed.

Is this something that’s happening more widely?

My recycling didn’t get picked up again this week. Again, this has been happening since January. I’ve been writing Councilmember Lewis George’s office about it since at least the beginning of March if not earlier.”
