“We have made the difficult decision to close our Dupont Circle location” (will stay open “through early summer 2023”)

1835 Connecticut Ave, NW

Thanks to K. for passing on from the NYSC (formerly Washington Sports) Club:

“Dear Dupont Circle Member,

Whether you’re a long-standing member or just recently discovered our Club, we hope that our gym has helped you progress along your fitness journey. We have made the difficult decision to close our Dupont Circle location, however, we are excited to welcome you to our fully renovated Club opening soon at 1211 Connecticut Avenue. This is the first Club outside of the New York City area to carry the New York Sports Club brand. We like to say our Sports Club brand was born in New York, but upgraded for you, DC.

You may continue enjoying the Dupont Circle location through early summer; we will communicate a closing date in the coming weeks.

To continue offering the best possible member experience, we are focusing our resources on investing in and maintaining our new Club at 1211 Connecticut Avenue. As a valued member of our Sports Club family, we can’t wait for you to experience our all-new facility including a Barbell Club, Recovery Lounge (complete with hydro-massage chairs), Cycle House, GroupX Studio, and a large Functional Field (our functional turf training area). Plus, 1211 Connecticut Avenue will house the first DC area location of our boutique brand, Fhitting Room. When one door closes, another (awesome) door opens!

What you need to know:

You may use our Dupont Circle Club through early summer 2023. We will send another communication when we have a specific closing date.

Your membership will be transferred to our brand-new New York Sports Club, located at 1211 Connecticut Avenue. Additionally, details will be provided in our future communications if you do not wish to transfer to 1211 Connecticut Ave.

We will all miss our Dupont Circle location, but we are confident you will love the new upgrades at 1211 Connecticut Ave. We’ll take care of the heavy lifting to make this transition as easy as possible for you. We look forward to introducing you and our DC community to the new New York Sport Club.

We can’t wait to see you in the club!

Your NYSC Club Team”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
