I got a new one for you. Lost our trash can today because as they we’re picking up trash .. shots were fired on Girard and the trash guys threw the trash can in the truck and drove off.
11am this occurred on Girard Street between Georgia and Sherman ave. Think i can get my trash cans back?”
Update from MPD:
“Good Afternoon: Today at approximately 11:04 am, members of the 3rd District responded to the 700 block of Girard St. NW for the report of Gunfire. Our 3D Officers had been patrolling close by, and were able to arrive on scene quickly and make an apprehension of a Suspect in this case. Although no one was injured by gunfire, 1-Adult Male has been placed under arrest for “Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm” & “Carrying a Pistol without a License” and 1-Illegal Firearm has been recovered as Evidence. Thank you for your patience as our response to this area undoubtedly disrupted local traffic. MPD remains vigilant and continues to seize illegal firearms off our streets every chance we can.
