From Lime:

“Lime, the global leader in shared electric vehicles, is proud to have been awarded permits to continue operating shared e-bikes and e-scooters in Washington, DC through December 31, 2024. Lime will operate 2,500 each of its industry leading Gen4 e-bikes and e-scooters equipped with lock-to technology in the District.

“Thank you to the District Department of Transportation and all of DC for bringing back e-scooters and e-bikes and allowing us to continue providing residents and visitors with access to affordable, safe, and sustainable ways to get around. Lime is proud of its program here, a program we’ve built on a foundation of safety and equity. We look forward to continuing to connect DC residents to opportunities, jobs, and their communities. We will continue expanding our commitment to equitable service and serving areas of need, especially Wards 5, 7, and 8. We are grateful to DDOT and all of DC for the privilege and the opportunity to again serve all residents and help this city build a more equitable and sustainable transportation system,” said Erika Duthely, Director of Government Relations at Lime.

Since Lime launched in DC in 2017, nearly 1.9 million unique riders have taken over 7.8 million rides and traveled almost 10 million miles. Lime riders have kept an estimated 1.9 million car trips off the road, saving over 840 metric tons of carbon emissions and 95,000 gallons of gas.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
