Shooting “in the alley behind Mezcalero”. Also multiple shots fired reported in LeDroit Park

A reader writes: “There was a shooting last night at 14th and Spring. The victim was found in the alley behind Mezcalero. She was awake and alert and looked like she’d survive. I heard she was shot a couple times in the leg. I heard two gunshots then an additional four a couple of seconds later.”

MPD reported: “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District seek the public’s assistance in locating suspects in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, January 2, 2023, in the 1400 block of Spring Road, Northwest.

At approximately 12:08 am, MPD responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, MPD located an adult female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.”

And in LeDroit Park, Pete wrote on Monday at 7:25pm: “shootout just now in LeDroit Park.” Other replied:

“I live at 2nd and V NW. Was outside picking up a delivery and heard 30+ shots coming from a few blocks west of us. One round was close enough I heard it buzz nearby.”

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
