Writing with an update on the Francis Field situation. The gates enclosing the field have been removed (picture shows side gate; all three are like this). This comes on the heels of increased enforcement of the DC leash laws.
This is a big blow to the neighborhood as the small dog park is not sufficient for the all the dogs that call West End/Foggy Bottom home and the gravel surface is a huge detriment to exercising them.
I hope the city is committed to expanding the dog park and hopefully using a natural surface.”
