Update Homicide. Shooting around 7:30am near the Kennedy Center

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, November 4, 2022, in the 2700 block of F Street, Northwest.

At approximately 7:31 am, members of the Second District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim, suffering from what appeared to be multiple sharp force injuries. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 35-year-old Thomas Washington, of Southeast, DC.”

From US Park Police: “Traffic Alert: Southbound Rock Creek Parkway diverted to Virginia Avenue. Bicycles and pedestrians follow police direction.”
