Next Month PoPville turns 16 Years Old, We Will Celebrate Nov. 3rd with a Happy Hour(s) at Atlas Brew Works (Navy Yard) AND we will toast in style with a special release, Behold the PoPville Cedar IPA!!

To say I’m excited about this would be a bit of understatement, to say I’ve dreamed of this my whole life would be a bit of an overstatement, to say I’m absolutely stoked would be spot on. If you told me 16 years ago, Prince of Petworth/PoPville would be what it is today, well, I couldn’t have imagined it in my wildest dreams. The community/communities that have emerged is my greatest joy. My second greatest joy is this beer!!! Not many people know this about me but from time to time I like to enjoy a beer – every day at 5pm sharp to be precise. To have the opportunity to celebrate 16 years with our own beer is pretty special. I’m super grateful to the folks at Atlas Brew Works who took my pie in the sky idea and turned it into a damn fine brew.

So first, a little bit about the PoPville cedar IPA.

I wanted to pay homage to the cedar tree in the middle of Grant Circle from which our logo is based.

The team from Atlas worked with some folks from the Arboretum to procure some ingredients, mix in some magic and voila – the PoPville Cedar IPA. This will be a limited edition release available at our party on November 3rd at Atlas in Navy Yard near Nats Park (1201 Half Street, SE.)

Additionally this beer will be included for members of the Atlas Beer Club:

“Quarterly beer drops which include 18 or 24 beers:
Atlas flagship 6-packs
Seasonal beer 6-pack
Limited drop 6-pack (PoPville Cedar IPA this round).

Active Club members benefits:

Complimentary pint when you pickup
Half-price flights for you and a guest
Early access to limited release beers
15% off event tickets
15% off kegs”

The next beer drop will be early November. Club boxes can be picked up at either Atlas Tap Room location or shipped to your door in DC, VA, PA & OH.”

For those who want to come and out and toast to 16 years – I’d love to see you! And I’ve made some sweet shirts to commemorate of course.

The deets:

Where:
Atlas Brew Works Half Street Brewery & Tap Room
1201 Half Street, SE (very close to Navy Yard metro)

When:
Thursday, November 3rd
6pm-10:30pm

Hope to see some of you there!!

Thanks to the Ben and Sylvia Gardner Foundation, the Friends of the White Whale Society, all the Sweet City Ride/Hawks* around Town/Corgis* around Town/Archeological Find supporters and from the bottom of my heart, thanks to all for making PoPville possible.

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
