“our building is trying to tell us we can no longer have our packages delivered to our actual physical address.”

“Dear PoPville,

I am a resident here (flats 130 in NoMa), and posters have gone up everywhere since our building made an announcement (I’ve seen three different ones since last night) – our building is trying to tell us we can no longer have our packages delivered to our actual physical address. they have to be delivered to a “fetch address” which is a warehouse, and then you schedule a delivery time.

It’s discriminatory towards folks who don’t have access to the app (or a phone or computer), IMO (also is the app ADA compliant?)… also unfair to those who work hours outside of usual delivery windows. people paid to live in a building with concierge package service (which is important for those who work long hours in an office and want safe delivery/storage of their packages) – and now we’re being forced to enter into an agreement with a third party to handle our packages. We have a right to receive our packages at our actual address, and management has apparently made this decision that we no longer will. and the reddit post is correct zero input from residents.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
