800 block of Quincy Street, NW

“drive by shooting last night that hit 3 people”

From MPD: “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in the 1700 block of 8th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 9:20 pm, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim and a juvenile male victim, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victims to area hospitals for treatment.

On Sunday, June 26, 2022, the juvenile male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 15 year-old Blu Bryant, Northwest, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

“Alert: Shooting Investigation in the 1700 block of West Virginia Ave NE. Lookout for a black male with blue or green eyes a light color shirt, dark shorts and light color sneakers, on a green scooter southbound on West Virginia Ave NE.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in the 1700 block of West Virginia Avenue, Northeast.

At approximately 4:47 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and discovered the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 45-year-old Jason Ford, of Northwest, DC.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
