From a press release:

“Andre McCain, founder and CEO of Butter Me Up, the breakfast sandwich concept that began as a pop-up in May 2020, is pleased to announce the opening of its first brick-and-mortar location at Westfield Montgomery Mall (Entrance #4). Patrons can anticipate the innovative, yet familiar breakfast staples from the Shaw pop-up along with new additions that will be exclusive to this location.

A pandemic baby, Butter Me Up debuted in May 2020 to help meet the demand for additional breakfast options in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C. “We launched Butter Me Up at the beginning of the pandemic when morale was down and restaurants were forced to close for indoor and outdoor dining,” says Andre McCain, founder and CEO of Butter Me Up and HalfSmoke. “We had furloughed 50 employees and were looking for an innovative way to bring them back to work. Breakfast was an underutilized time for us so we decided to launch a breakfast pop-up at HalfSmoke which would allow us to re-hire staff while helping to uplift our community in the process. Out of the gate, we had tremendous support from our core customers. And now, two years later, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to curate a dining experience that is authentically Butter Me Up. This new location will also allow us to continue to grow and expand the offerings available at both Butter Me Up and HalfSmoke.”

To date, Butter Me Up has sold over 100,000 breakfast sandwiches. Each is made from scratch and incorporates fresh, local ingredients as well as homegrown goods produced in Washington, D.C. such as Panorama Bakery, MeatCrafters and Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company. Additionally, each sandwich comes with a pay-it-forward action card to encourage individuals to spread love throughout the community. Examples include “Write A Thank You Note To Someone Who Wouldn’t Expect It” or “Spend One Hour Doing Something You Really Enjoy.”

Guests can anticipate a newly expanded Butter Me Up menu at the new Bethesda location. The menu is divided into four categories: breakfast sammies, superfood acai bowls, toasts, and sides. Standout dishes include Staycation, soft scrambled eggs, goat cheese, caramelized onions, avocado and siracha mayo ($12); Easy Like Sunday, turkey sausage, soft scrambled eggs, Havarti cheese and honey-mustard aioli ($12); Feels Like Home, buttermilk fried chicken, soft scrambled eggs, caramelized onions, dill pickles, smoked cheddar and sriracha mayo ($12); Good Morning Sunshine, acai, topped with banana, peanut butter, Nutella, coconut flakes and granola ($13); My Good Side, blue majik, dragon fruit, kiwi, strawberries and cocoa nibs ($13); Just Saying Hi, spinach, kale, avocado, banana, mango, pineapple, toasted pistachios and clover honey ($13); So In Love, crushed avocado, soft broiled egg, everything by the bagel seasoning, hot sauce and sprouts, served on organic whole wheat Torpedo sourdough ($14); Breakfast In Bed, smoked salmon, chives crème fraiche, radish, shaved red onion and sprouts ($14), along with a selection of sides such as Tater Tots, served with smokey-sweet seasoning ($6); Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Sticks with maple syrup ($6); Blueberry Parfait with blueberries, granola and vanilla Greek yogurt ($6) and Fruit Salad ($6). Patrons will be able to quench their thirst with house-pressed juices (16oz for $10), smoothies (16oz for $9), as well as tea, lemonade and single-origin, farm-to-cup coffee ($3-$6) from Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company in Crofton, Maryland. Traditional brunch cocktails, such as Clicquot Mimosa ($14); Bloody Mary ($11); Tequila Sunrise ($12); Irish Coffee ($12) are also available.

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
