Today’s Rental was chosen for those looking for a good roommate option and the big balcony, obviously

This rental is located at New Hampshire Ave near Spring St. The Craigslist ad says:

“$1,125 / 2br – 1 Bedroom Available in Sunny 2 Bed/2Bath Apartment (Columbia Heights/ (Columbia Heights/Petworth)

I am looking for a new roommate to join me in my sunny 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, just 1 ½ blocks (3 min) south of the Georgia Ave/Petworth metro station. The rent is $1125 per month (including water and gas), and the room is available starting in June (the move in date is flexible). The lease runs through the end of September with the option to renew for another year, and I am ideally looking for someone who would want to renew. Other utilities (internet and electric) typically run between $50-$60 per person per month. The bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom and can come furnished with a queen bed and bureau, or unfurnished. The apartment has lots of natural light, an open concept kitchen/living room, a combo washer/dryer, a dishwasher, and two sizeable porches for soaking up some sunshine! It is also in a super convenient location just 3-4 minutes to the metro, multiple bus lines (64,70,79), a capital bike share, and Safeway, plus the center of Columbia Heights with all its conveniences (Target, Giant, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc.) is also a short 13 minute walk away. Additionally, there are tons of great restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walk from the apartment on 11th St, 14th Street, and Georgia Ave (Makan, Queen’s English, Osso Buco, Bad Saint, Wonderland Ballroom, Habanero, Mezcalero, Red Derby, Little Coco’s, Hook Hall, Midlands, Call Your Mother, St. Vincent’s Wine Bar, etc.)!

A little about me, I am 33, originally from the Boston area but have been living in DC for the past 3 ½ years. I work in global health and my job is permanently remote, so I am ideally looking for a roommate who goes into the office at least a few days a week since the apartment isn’t super well set up for two full time remote workers. I am looking for a roommate who wants to be friends and is down to chat at the end of the day, and occasionally have movie nights or go out and explore the city together! I like to keep things tidy, and I’m looking to live with someone considerate who also likes to maintain a nice home. I love to cook and bake and enjoy having friends over a couple of nights a week to hang out and share a meal and want to live with someone who is comfortable with that and also feels like they can do the same!

If interested, please respond with some details about yourself and what you’re looking for in a roommate!”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
