“Dear PoPville,
I googled myself, out of curiosity, and was shocked to see that my exact address came up as the third search result. This was from a voter registration website. I have a unique name, and I can’t be alone in not wanting my address on the internet for reasons ranging from privacy, to safety, to just plain “nope”.
I read that anyone registered in DC becomes public record, and that you can go through a judge to get this removed from public records while still maintaining active voter registration status– but the process wasn’t clear from the articles I found.
Has anyone done this? How did you go about it? What do you recommend? Specific actionable steps that I can take in the immediate term, and/or referrals to someone that can help would be really appreciated.”
