Update: “#DCsBravest are saddened to notify the community that the two victims of the 2 Alarm fire in the 300 block of G St SW are deceased. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends. The victims were an adult male and female.”

DC Fire and EMS first reported at 2:17am: “Working Fire 4th & G St SW. Fire 3rd floor apartment.”

“2 Alarm Fire 300 block G St SW. #DCsBravest arrived with fire showing 3rd floor apartment in occupied multi-story occupied apartment building. 1 victim located. Fire is being knocked down. 20 units & 100 personnel on scene.”

“Update 2 Alarm Fire 300 block G St SW. #DCsBravest knocked down all fire 3rd floor apartment in 8 story occupied apartment building. Conducting searches and assisting occupants in distress due to smoke conditions on multiple floors. No other injuries other than 1 victim.”

“Update 2 Alarm fire 300 block G St SW. #DCsBravest continue to remove smoke from multiple floors and are sheltering occupants in place as needed. EMS currently evaluating 1 resident. Operating with all units on scene.”

“Update 2 Alarm fire 300 block G St SW. Warming bus provided through @DC_HSEMA sheltering aprox 30 residents. #DCs Bravest still removing smoke & checking all floors for welfare of residents who were sheltered in place.”

“Update G St SW fire. All 3rd floor residents displaced. #DCsBravest will escort them to obtain personal possessions. Building management providing other housing. Remaining residents on other floors will be allowed to reoccupy their units after.”

“40 apartments are uninhabitable as a result of the 2 Alarm fire on G St SW. Displaced residents are being assisted with housing by building management, @DC_HSEMA @OTAinDC @DCMOCRS @RedCrossNCGC @DCHumanServ. #DCsBravest assisting them with gathering personal possessions.”
