Thanks to Peter for passing on: “Brooklyn Boulders just sold their brand new Eckington bouldering gym to Bouldering Project. they also sold their Boston and Brooklyn gyms.”

The press release says:

“As of today, the Bouldering Project has acquired our three Brooklyn Boulders locations in Brooklyn, D.C., and Boston. And while that means you may see some new signage in your facility, you’ll continue to experience the best-in-class climbing experience you’ve come to expect from us. You’ll also continue to see many of the friendly faces from the Brooklyn Boulders team.

Much like BKB, the Bouldering Project strives to create spaces where all individuals can feel a sense of belonging in our sport and culture.

They infuse inspiration, joy, and meaningful human connection into climbing. Founded in Seattle in 2011 and built by climbers, the Bouldering Project set out to build a place that would broaden the horizons of what indoor climbing could be. Since then, they have built Bouldering Projects in Seattle, Austin, Minneapolis, and soon-to-open Salt Lake City. We wholeheartedly believe in what Bouldering Project stands for and its ethos as a company.

The Bouldering Project also recognizes that each gym is unique because of its locale and the community members that populate the space. Your climbing experiences will continue to be commensurate with the vibrancy of our fantastic climbing community in D.C. You’ll also be excited to learn that Bouldering Project member access now includes climbing, yoga, and fitness offerings at every Bouldering Project location!

As a valued member of the Brooklyn Boulders community, we look forward to continuing to give you the highest level of service. And, keep in mind that you will continue to find Brooklyn Boulders operating at our Queensbridge, West Loop, and Lincoln Park locations.

Join us in celebrating this next chapter and look out for a message from Bouldering Project later today.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
