“This is a bittersweet goodbye for us all.”

1320 H Street, NE

Thanks to all who sent word about Thamee closing soon on H Street, NE:

“It’s time to give ourselves an “Asian F”. F is not for failure, but rather for future and for farewell. This is a bittersweet goodbye for us all.

After nearly two years of calling on legislators, landlords, a national audience of Burmese food lovers, and local supporters for help in the face of an ongoing global pandemic, we’ve reached the inevitable conclusion we must permanently close our doors.

Only 8 services remain at Thamee! Please order (lots of) Burmese food to-go during our sweet send-off this and next weekend.

Enjoy 50% off all wine, beer, and pantry items through January 23, our last day of restaurant operations. Your purchase supports the BIPOC makers and marginalized communities we’ve repped all along.

As we say farewell to Thamee, please tag @thamee_DC to share your favorite memories with us. We read every word you write, and will pass them on to the Thamee team to lift their spirits!

Stay healthy, be kind, eat Burmese.

With deep affection,

Team Thamee
Chef JoJo, Simone & Eric”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
