“DC becomes the first city in the world to have a full fleet of Lime’s new Gen4 e-bike”

From Lime:

“Lime, the world’s largest provider of shared electric vehicles, launched its brand new Gen4 e-bike today in Washington DC, making the District the first city on earth to experience the new ride. The new bike comes equipped with lock-to technology and a swappable, interchangeable battery that is compatible with Lime’s Gen4 e-scooters, which will significantly enhance the efficiency and sustainability of its operations, and improve vehicle availability for riders. The launch in Washington DC is the first time any city has had a whole fleet of Gen4 e-bikes available following small-scale pilots in several cities in 2021. Lime will continue to launch the industry leading bike in more cities around the world this spring, including other American cities like Atlanta and Charleston.

Next week Lime will also launch its groundbreaking Lime Able program in DC, through which people with limited mobility can reserve a scooter for free and have it delivered to their homes. Lime Able is a free service for riders with disabilities to ensure they are able to take advantage of sustainable transportation. With 24-hour notice, Lime will deliver an adaptive vehicle to Lime Able riders and a place and time of their choosing, free of charge. The e-scooter includes a seat and is designed to serve riders who aren’t able to stand for long periods of time. When a rider has completed their ride, Lime will pick up the vehicle from where the user ends their trip. The launch of Lime Able represents Lime’s ongoing commitment to equity in the District and builds on the success of its Lime Access program that offers discounted rides to eligible residents.

“Lime’s unmatched commitment to serving the people of Washington DC continues to grow, this time with our brand new e-bike and accessible scooters available on demand. We spent the summer and fall investing millions of dollars in our Lime Access equity pricing initiative and upgrading our scooter fleet to Gen4 scooters with lock-to technology, and today we build on those successes and take them one step further. DC residents now have access to a smoother, safer, and more sustainable bike ride and we have raised the bar on accessibility for micromobility providers. We look forward to seeing DC residents on our new bikes and on our adaptive scooters soon,” said Robert Gardner, Director of Government Relations at Lime.

The interchangeable swappable battery, shared between Lime’s Gen4 e-bike and e-scooter, is the most revolutionary upgrade to the new generation of Lime vehicles and aims to significantly improve the operational efficiency and sustainability of Lime’s service, while increasing reliability for riders.

Additional upgrades to the e-bike include:

Increased motor power to help riders easily climb hills;

A phone holder, allowing riders to easily navigate and follow directions without having to stop and look at their phones;

A new handlebar display mirroring the one on Lime’s scooters for a standardized display across vehicle types;

An automatic two-speed transmission that eliminates the prior generation’s gears for easier acceleration and smoother ride;

A modular design, extending the usable life to five years.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
