“addressed to my 5 year old daughter, for a $75 littering fine”

Ed. Note: This also happened to my friend’s daughter back in 2016.

Sean shares with us: “I received a letter in the mail today, addressed to my 5 year old daughter, for a $75 littering fine from the city because they found a box with her name on it in an alley almost 2 blocks from our house.

Ironically, the date of the incident was October 18. That happens to be her birthday. Hmm, why would a box in her name end up blocks from her house on her bday? Oh right bc someone stole it off our front porch. A gift her aunt in NY sent her in the mail.

TL;DR? A 5 year old had her present stolen from her house on her birthday and when the offender ditched it in an alley, the city thought they should fine the child. Outrageous. Hilarious. Do better. I hope to hear from someone soon.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
