From DDOT:
“The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close Rock Creek Park Trail between the P Street NW Ramp from Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway and Shoreham Drive NW on or about Monday, September 13, 2021, weather permitting. This closure will be in place for approximately seven months.
This temporary closure is necessary to reconstruct the existing Rock Creek Park Trail as part of the part of the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project.
Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to detour traffic around the work zone. Pedestrians will be directed along P Street NW, Florida Avenue NW, and Connecticut Avenue NW. Bicyclists will be directed along P Street NW, 19th Street NW, and Calvert Street NW.
Once completed, the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project will improve accessibility and connectivity to Rock Creek Park with improvements such as new and reconstructed trails, and a new 110-foot pedestrian bridge south of the Zoo Tunnel.
