From a press release:

“Washington, D.C.-based developer and property manager, EastBanc, today announced the signing of two leases that will bring popular clothing retailers Aerie and Everlane to M Street in Georgetown this fall. The two brands join EastBanc’s growing list of retail tenants in the historic neighborhood as retailers continue to expand brick and mortar locations following the pandemic.

Aerie, one of the fastest growing brands in the apparel industry, will lease 7,700 square feet at its 3235 M Street NW location.

Its Georgetown store will also feature its activewear and accessories sub-brand, OFFL/NE™. OFFL/NE™ by Aerie offers an unparalleled assortment of soft, cozy, and comfortable activewear, including an assortment of leggings, bike shorts, tops, sports bras, fleece, bottoms, and accessories. In addition to combining two brands under one roof, Aerie’s Georgetown store will feature space for customer experience activities, digital boards with virtual surprises and even a ping pong table when you need a shopping break. The store is slated to open in September 2021.

“The EastBanc team has been working hard to expand Georgetown’s merchant mix in 2021 and have particularly enjoyed working with the American Eagle and Everlane teams who have expressed a strong interest in these new stores and the DC customer.” said EastBanc Principal, Philippe Lanier. “We are enthused to see all our efforts coming to fruition and have high confidence that these brands will see great success and perfectly complement the many changes in store for Georgetown this year.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
