From the National Park Service:

“It’s almost peak bloom at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens! The National Park Service invites you to join us online to celebrate the blooming of the lotus and water lilies at the 2021 Virtual Lotus and Water Lily Festival. The online festivities officially kick off on July 8 and feature videos, activities and interactive events through the end of the month. Online events can be found on the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens Facebook, and the Lotus and Water Lily Festival website.

Online events and activities will include:

  • A lotus tea demonstration.
  • A Shaw Water Gardens history talk.
  • Virtual garden tours in Spanish.
  • Ranger programs on the lotus and water lilies.

In addition to this year’s online content, visitors are welcome to visit Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens to view the lotus and water lily blooms in person. The park is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. From July 9 through July 30, the park will have extended hours on Friday evenings until 8 p.m.

The 2021 Virtual Lotus and Water Lily Festival is presented in partnership with the Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and Infinite Possibilities International.

Can’t join us for the festival? Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is open year-round and offers opportunities for all ages and interests. It’s a great destination for birding, wildlife viewing, photography, picnics, volunteering and school groups. For more information visit nps.gov/keaq.”
