“NEW: Beginning Sunday, July 18, Metro will be open until midnight seven days a week.
-Monday-Friday: 5:00 am-midnight
-Saturday: 7:00 am-midnight
-Sunday: 8:00 am-midnight”
and for the 4th of July:
“Metro riders going out to celebrate Independence Day can count on Metro to get you there. Additional trains will be operating to accommodate crowds attending the fireworks display on the National Mall and other festivities around the region.
On Sunday, July 4, Metrorail service will operate from 8 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. During the day, trains will run on a regular weekend schedule, (every 12 minutes on the Red Line and every 15 minutes on all other lines) until 4 p.m., at which time service will ramp up to rush-hour service levels or better before and after the fireworks. Trains will run every 6 minutes on the Red Line, every 8 minutes on the Orange Line and every 12 minutes on all other lines from 4 p.m. until closing.”
