“Just in time for summer, La Collina will open for dining on Friday, June 18th. Inspired by the simplicity of Italy’s osterias, La Collina (Italian for ‘the hill’) will offer summer dining al fresco with a menu of classic and comforting dishes, including house-made pastas, a selection of antipasti and salumi, large plates that can be shared or savored by one, and wines by the carafe. Dinner will be available on the patio from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday through Sunday.
Executive Chef Katarina Petonito crafts house-made pastas such as Bucatini ‘Cacio e Pepe’, Bigoli and Meatballs, and Rigatoni with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe. For antipasti, dishes include Arancini, Fried Artichokes, Bruschetta, and Salumi by the ounce. House-made Focaccia is served with a choice of roasted garlic or spicy n’duja sauce. For hungry diners (or to share with the table), La Collina features Whole Grilled Branzino and Heritage Pork Milanese. Fusilli and meatballs are perfectly prepared for little ones. Dessert showcases a nod to Chef Kat’s Filipino family with a tiramisu-inspired version of Sans Rival, layered with crispy meringue, hazelnut, espresso and rum. Wines on draft, such as frizzante, rosato and rosso gigante, will be offered by the glass, ½ carafe and one-liter carafe.
La Collina will begin with patio seating for dinner. Private dining space will be available for groups and events, and seating indoors in the main dining room will soon follow. La Collina is the second restaurant from Eastern Point Collective, the hospitality group founded by Hollis Wells Silverman with partner Anthony Lanier, President & CEO of EastBanc. Sister restaurant The Duck & The Peach (duckandpeachdc.com) opened at the beginning of 2021 and quickly became a neighborhood favorite. The Wells (thewellsdc.com), the group’s speak-easy style gin bar adjacent to The Duck & The Peach, will also open this summer. Eastern Point Collective’s three concepts along C Street SE were designed by renowned architecture and design studio HapstakDemetriou+ and features furniture from family-owned Swiss design company Vitra.
La Collina is located at 747 C Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003, one block from the Eastern Market metro station. Open for dinner 3 days a week, Friday through Sunday, from 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Reservations are encouraged and will soon be available on the website. Walk-ins are welcomed. Delivery and take-out will be available in the days ahead.”
