Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by a volunteer who compiles these pets weekly from local shelters.

“Archer is the happiest pup! He is so excited about everything, walks, treats, dinner, pets, even just looking at him! It is hard to get pictures because his tail wags so much he wiggles and makes the picture blurry! He is doing well in the crate and learning some basic commands. He really wants to make his people happy. He loves playing tug and chase with our resident dog in the yard but he also loves snuggling on our lap at the end of the night or even during the day while we work. Archer is up for anything as long as he is by your side he is happy!” To learn how to adopt Archer from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, click here.”

Hello friends! My name is Roberta. I don’t know how it came to be, but I found myself outdoors near an industrial park trying to survive alone. A kind Samaritan would leave food for me. Eventually I was persuaded to trust my generous friend. I’m glad I did because they introduced me to King Street Cats and I was welcomed inside!

As you can see, I am gorgeous! Everyone says so. I have creamy short fur with soft markings not unlike what you find in Ragdolls, Birmans and Siamese coats. My crystal blue eyes are simply beautiful.

I’m still quite shy. I hope that my purrson will be very gentle, patient, soft-spoken, understanding of my hesitation, and encouraging. I’d like a kitty mentor who is not threatened by my presence and won’t behave aggressively toward me. It will greatly enhance my well-being and facilitate my social progress to have a compatible friend with whom I can play, run, explore, groom, nap and emulate when it comes to human interaction.

Please consider opening your heart and home to a stunning but shy young blue-eyed beauty. You can learn more about me here.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
