Support

“In these challenging times, it’s important for us to support each other.”

Thanks to Dan Winston for sharing this important fundraiser: “In these challenging times, it’s important for us to support each other. @garrisondcps has set up this @gofundme for families. Please donate if you are able to do so.”

The GoFundMe says:

“As a Title I school, more than half of our students are from low-income families and nearly 25 percent have special needs. We have received unbelievably generous support from our community over the past six months, support that has provided essential food, rent, and childcare assistance for Garrison families through a long, difficult summer.

We are grateful beyond measure, but as we confront an uncertain new school year, we are asking for help once again. Our $20,000 goal will ensure we are able to do three essential things:

1. Continue direct support to our families who need it in the form of grocery gift cards

2. Provide childcare scholarship support to our families who need it until school resumes in-person

3. Continue supporting our school family up the hill at Cardozo EC, attended by many former Garrison Wildcats

Our school community strives to live by our five Wildcat Values of Empathy, Teamwork, Perseverance, Excellence, and Joy, and never have these been more evident than over the past six months since our abrupt school closure in mid-March.

Through the spring and now into the fall, our teachers have created joyful, rigorous virtual learning experiences each day, our parents have stepped up as at-home teachers, and our community has figuratively wrapped our arms around each other to meet our needs as best we can. I am in awe of how our community has responded to this pandemic crisis, raising the money to ensure every family has the learning materials and technology they need for virtual learning, and support as needed for food and housing.

Please, donate what you can, if you can, to help Garrison families, and share this request with others you know who may be able to support. Every donation will provide direct relief to Garrison families in need; without this support, many of our school’s families will struggle to put food on the table and meet other basic needs.

Thank you for your care, and we are wishing you and your family well!

Love,
Principal Kip & the Wildcats”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
