Update: Reunited!!

2120 Vermont Ave, NW

“Dear PoPville,

Long story short, my cat of 13 years passed away from cancer a few weeks ago. The animal hospital did everything they could which I appreciated (but it was still kind of a weird experience– since due to Covid– they have an outdoor tent in a parking garage where you say goodbye, and then the medical team comes and goes so you can have your privacy and also continue to be socially distant.) In the middle of this emotional/chaotic experience, they asked what I would like to do regarding remains; and I opted to do a paw print impression thing– they said they would take care of everything for me which was great as I was in no place to shift my focus in that moment.

Cut to last Friday afternoon, I get a UPS tracking email saying a package (the paw print/memorial) is in route, and expected to deliver on Saturday 10/31. However, I see it’s going to my OLD ADDRESS.

I immediately try to reroute it on ups.com; however it says that I don’t have the option and that I must contact the sender. I contact the sender (the paw print place)– and they closed at 5pm and wouldn’t open until Monday. I leave a message hoping they will hear it.

Saturday I get a message that it was delivered. I contact the building management via email, two different addresses I found online, but no response.

After speaking two different UPS reps, they said there is nothing they can do because it was successfully delivered.

I call the paw print place; they said there is nothing they can do either (as my cat has been cremated) so they can’t redo the memorial even if I was willing to repay.

I know this is a long shot: Anyone here live in the Rhapsody on 2120 Vermont Ave NW? Curious if you could check the mail room and see if there is a package sitting there… I could provide my old apartment number/my name privately. For all I know it’s been thrown out, but since it’s such a special package, I want to try and locate it if I can!!”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
