From the Capitol Riverfront BID:

“Grab your popcorn! The Capitol Riverfront BID will host a special drive-in movie theater experience, set to launch Sept 25 and run until October 30 at the Akridge Lot in Buzzard Point. Located at 100 V Street SW, the Capitol Riverfront Drive-in will transform the Buzzard Point parking lot into an outdoor cinema with six showings of hit movies. Beginning today, Washingtonians can visit riverfrontdrivein.eventbrite.com to register for select date(s) – space is limited to 75 cars per movie, so guests are encouraged to register early.

“We recognize the challenges the District has faced over the last few months, and we wanted to create an experience where residents and visitors alike could gather for an entertaining activity while still maintaining a safe distance,” said Michael Stevens Capitol Riverfront BID president. “The Drive-in is one small way we’re supporting the communities we serve.”

The family-friendly contact-free experience will launch with Selma, a film honoring the legacy of the late Congressman John Lewis and the Voting Rights marches, a historic movement that still resonates with the Black Lives Matter movement today.

The first half of the series will continue with more current popular flicks; and in celebration of Halloween season, the second half of the series will feature a festive lineup of spooktacular films. The full lineup includes:

Selma (PG-13) – September 25
Abominable (PG) – October 2
Knives Out (PG-13) – October 9
Classic Double Feature: Frankenstein & Dracula (Not Rated, 1931) – October 16
Us (R) – October 23
People’s Choice – October 30

The People’s Choice category invites the community to select what they want to see as the grand finale film. All are welcome to vote among Halloween classics including Beetlejuice (PG), The Corpse Bride (PG), The Addams Family (PG-13), and Poltergeist (PG). Voting will begin at @capitolriverfront’s Instagram in early September.

For the complete movie-going experience, attendees are encouraged to order and pick-up dinner from any of the 60+ Capitol Riverfront restaurants. Alcohol is not permitted.

To reserve a space for the Capitol Riverfront Drive-in, those interested can visit riverfrontdrivein.eventbrite.com to pick their desired date(s). A $20 donation will be requested to hold a spot, all of which will be distributed to Capital Area Food Bank, DC Central Kitchen, and Van Ness Elementary. Once confirmed, customers will receive further instructions.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
