From a press release:

“There’s a new “streatery” in town. Michelin-honored Royal in DC’s LeDroit Park neighborhood has just opened a 28-seat streetside patio alongside its restaurant on 5th Street NW. The new open-air streatery joins Royal’s 4-seat front patio to offer a total of 32 outdoor dining seats, outfitted with fresh greenery, breezy outdoor fans and large umbrellas with built-in USB charging ports.

Also new this summer is a variety of menu additions from Chef Cable Smith, including a morning house chorizo & fried egg-stuffed arepa, ají amarillo mussels with pickled sweet peppers, and a grilled skirt steak with orange chile salsa, purple potatoes, grilled broccoli, grilled peanuts and lime crema.

And bar director Alonzo Freeman just introduced six new cocktails for the season, including the frozen The One With The Chiles with mezcal, sweet coconut, espresso, ancho chiles, spices and angostura; Need More Derby with bourbon, cantaloupe, mint and szechuan peppercorn; Remedy #9 with blended scotch, passionfruit, pressed ginger and honey; the New Normal Punch combining Wray & Nephew rum, strawberry tea, citrus, nutmeg and angostura; and two Summer Sodas ($10) – the savory SummerThyme Soda with gin, fino sherry, pickled corn and thyme; and Alonzo’s Vodka Soda combining vodka, Royal’s housemade summer vermouth and sparkling water.

Royal is also open for safe, limited indoor dining, offering reduced seating for 22, with its large accordion storefront doors always open to allow fresh air and a breezy indoor-outdoor feel throughout its dining room.

Royal has gone above and beyond DC health and safety guidelines to offer the safest enjoyable dining experience for all, and in addition to safely-distanced tables, mask policies and stringent cleaning procedures, also offers contactless online ordering via GoTab and complimentary sanitizing stations throughout the patios and indoor spaces.

Royal has begun offering reservations for the very first time in its five years in operation, available via Resy, but also takes walk-ins if space is available. Tables are available for 1-6 guests per party, with 1.5-hour time limits per reservation.

Royal also continues to offer its full food, drink and bodega menu for take-out via GoTab and delivery via Caviar.

Royal is open for safe dine-in service 7 days a week, from 10am-10pm on Monday through Saturday, and 10am-9pm on Sunday.
