The Fourth District is currently investigating an Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm that occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at approximately 12:57am in the 3900 block of 4th Street NW.

Property damage was reported.

“The Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District is currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in the unit block of Farragut Place NW at approximately 1:58am. An adult male sustained a non-life threatening injury and transported at an area hospital for treatment.

There is no usable lookout at this time.”

“The Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District is currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in the 900 block of Farragut Street NW at approximately 2:36am. An adult male sustained a non-life threatening injury and was transported at an area hospital for treatment.

The lookout is for a dark colored vehicle fleeing eastbound into the 800 block of Farragut St. NW.”

“On August 1, 2020 at approximately 4:45 PM in the 4000 block of 14th St, NW, there was a structure fire that left two people displaced. The red cross was notified for them. Traffic was temporarily closed but was all reopened. There were no injuries reported as result of this incident. DCFEMS in handling the investigation of this incident.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
