Moving? Try Sparrow!

Dear PoPville readers,

Over the past year there has been increased tension in the South China Sea, exploding corporate and household debt, COVID-19, and apparently the bubonic plague is back. To top it all off, you may have to move soon!

We know it can be stressful, but there’s nothing wrong with getting help! Sparrow Moving is a full service moving company in the DMV that does a really good job, simple as that. Here are some things that we do that we are especially proud of:

  • We Offer Flat Rates: You should know how much your move is going to cost before it starts, not after.
  • COVID-19 Precautions: Moving is an essential business. We think the safest way to move during a pandemic is with a moving company. Yes, it helps our bottom line, but you are also avoiding sitting in a truck that has been driven by a lot of different people. During the move, our movers will be wearing gloves and masks. All of our movers have been COVID tested. We also clean and disinfect the truck after every move.
  • Long Distance: Sparrow Moving likes to travel! Moving out of state? Would rather work from home near the Rockies? Sparrow can take your stuff anywhere in the continental United States.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
