If your Driver’s License Expired Fear Not, Take This Letter with you; and unrelated but also note the DMV’s “Rhode Island Service Center will be closed indefinitely beginning Monday, August 10”

Thanks to John for passing on: “I know there have been lots of questions about registration and such at the DMV. This DMV update also includes a letter to take with you when traveling outside DC and show you are still compliant. DC DMV Credential Extension Update

Also from the DMV:

“Today, the DC Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) announced the Rhode Island Service Center located at 2350 Washington Place, NE will be closed indefinitely beginning Monday, August 10, 2020. The closure is in response to an increased staffing shortage at that location.

DC DMV continues to accept appointments at its Benning Ridge, Georgetown, and 95 M Street SW service centers. No new appointments are being scheduled at the Rhode Island Service Center. Customers who had scheduled appointments dated on or after August 10 at the Rhode Island Service Center will be honored on their same date and time at other service centers. DC DMV is notifying customers affected by the change.

Additionally, DC DMV has extended the expiration date for all documents expiring on or after March 1–including driver licenses, identification cards, vehicle registrations, inspections, ticket payments and ticket adjudication responses–until 45 days after the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency concludes. All driver licenses, vehicle registrations, and vehicle inspections scheduled to expire have been granted a waiver without penalty until DC DMV reopens at full operating capacity.

Customers are encouraged to use online options by visiting dmv.dc.gov. DC DMV has more than 55 online services enabling customers to “skip the in-person trip.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
