“We regret to inform you that your test sample, taken at either the Judiciary Square or Anacostia testing site, was unable to be processed due to heat exposure.”

“Dear PoPville,

I went to get a COVID-19 test at Judiciary Square last week because I participated in one of the recent BLM protests. I have not experienced any symptoms but just wanted to be safe. Well, I got this note from DC DOH today saying that my test results were compromised “due to heat exposure”. I’m wondering how many other people were affected and if this has happened before? Apparently this happened at both Judiciary Square and Anacostia.

Also from the note: “The Judiciary Square testing location (F Street, NW between 4th and 5th Streets, NW) will hold a special opening for those impacted tomorrow (June 17) and Thursday (June 18) from 3-7 p.m. You are already pre-registered. Please proceed to the registration tent and share that you are there to be retested due to this reason and you will receive priority placement in line.” ….Why not have extra hours at the Anacostia location too??”

Thanks to the many, many readers who passed on the following message they received from Coronavirus DOH:

“We regret to inform you that your test sample, taken at either the Judiciary Square or Anacostia testing site, was unable to be processed due to heat exposure. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
