From the Mayor’s office:
“The District’s reported data for Wednesday, June 3, 2020 includes 104 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 9,120.
The District reported two additional COVID-19 related deaths.
· 76-year-old male
· 89-year-old female
Tragically, 475 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.
Based on new identified cases and their corresponding symptom onset dates, DC Health has determined that a new peak in cases during Phase One occurred on May 30. Therefore, the District has experienced three days of sustained decrease in community spread of COVID-19 during Phase One. Due to a backlog of lab results being reported after Memorial Day, and as new cases are identified through contact tracing, the number of cases attributed to a specific symptom onset date will be impacted. This may result in a new peak, and a resetting of Day 0 in the upcoming days.
Those changes are reflected in the graphs below, which reflect data through June 2 and June 1, respectively.
