From the Mayor’s Office:

“The District’s reported data for Saturday, May 23, 2020 includes 144 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 8,110.

The District reported five additional COVID-19 related deaths:

57-year-old male
75-year-old male
86-year-old female
94-year-old female
95-year-old female

Tragically, 432 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

Yesterday, it was reported that the countdown of sustained decrease in community spread had paused while the data was under review. Today, it is confirmed that a new peak was detected in the data, resetting the count to 11 days of sustained decline. That data is represented in the chart below.”
