Update from MPD: “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, April 13, 2020, in the 700 block of Longfellow Street, Northwest.
At approximately 11:20 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Clarence Skrine, of Northwest, DC.

“The First District is currently investigating a carjacking that occurred last night at approximately 10:23 PM in the 400 block of 10th Street NE.
While the complainant was parking their car, four suspects approached and one produced a handgun and demanded the complainants property and vehicle. All four suspects entered the complainants gray 2014 Honda Accord with VA tags (Don’t tread on me style) and fled the location East onto Maryland Avenue. If anyone has video footage in the area, we ask that you review your recordings and let us know if they captured anything. If anyone has any information about this offense we would ask that you contact the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at 202-727-9099 and reference case# 20058683. Thank you.”
