I’m working with a team of 24 local artists to create and send hug-inspired artworks while we’re physically distancing and unable to give real hugs. The project is called A Hug or Something Like It and allows folks to send ‘Hug” care packages containing miniature hug art prints made by DC-area artists to friends and family (or to enjoy themselves!).
The project is in response to the repercussions we’re already feeling from COVID-19 — it’s my attempt at a remedy for those of us who have touch as a primary love language during an emotionally turbulent time, and also an effort to support local artists as we head into a period where money is sure to be especially tight for the industry (like so many others).
Hug packets, which consist of five randomly selected miniature artworks, are available for $20 (free shipping) here. Profits will be evenly distributed among participating artists.”
